Crafterhours Reunion: Take Two

July 30, 2012 By crafterhours 3 Comments

Since Adrianna is in the states all summer, and only 2 hours away, Susan decided to take advantage of free grandma babysitting and head down for a visit last week.

It was a quick trip, but we still managed to have some fun.  Here’s what we did, instagram syle.

First we walked around downtown in Adrianna’s parents’ quaint little town.  We stopped in a couple cute boutiques…

and found a little bit of sewing inspiration.

And took silly pictures. Adrianna’s angle: infinitely more flattering. Susan’s not pregnant, though she kinds looks it in this photo.  (we thought it was a fun little coincidence that we were wearing the same colors as we did in our photoshoot)

Then we found a jewelry-making-supply store and saw that customers could buy supplies and sit down and make the jewelry there and they would provide any tools you needed.  So we said, what the hey, let’s do it!  (Actually we said, we need to go grab some coffee and then we’ll come right back and do it!)

We got our materials all picked out and the lovely lady at the front desk gave us lots of helpful advice.  Or, in Adrianna’s case, gave very specific step-by-step directions since she’s never made so much as a friendship bracelet.

It was fun!  And successful!  (except the earrings. we won’t even mention that debacle.)

And we took more silly pictures.

We had some dinner (during which we did some blog-planning so we could expense it, of course!), crashed, and woke up the next morning to some life-sustaining necessities.

And some freezer paper stenciling.  There’s nothing like fps when you want to do some relatively mindless crafting and focus more on eating cinnamon rolls and chatting.

Then Susan had to go home to deal with real life and the vomit that comes with it (true story).

But it was a fun little visit and with half as many children as last time, a little quieter too.  Hopefully we’ll be able to read and understand whatever we wrote at dinner after having a mojito and have some fun stuff headed your way this fall!

I love fps but I’m finding it harder to justify yet another t-shirt for these boys. The jewlery making on the other hand is rather cerebral. So many choices and decisions, I almost find it stressful. And ineviatably, I’m eyeing the person’s item beside me and wishing I’d gone that route. Glad to seee you ladies getting some child free time.
