An Alice in Wonderland Birthday: The Invitation

Alea is no ordinary girl. She has very specific tastes. When she decided she wanted an Alice in Wonderland birthday, she was quite clear that it needed to be Alice 2010, not Alice 1951.

So in getting started and talking with her mom, I thought we could make it quite clear both on her invitation and as a keepsake: Alea in Wonderland? Yes, absolutely. A little photoshopping and it was done.

As you might expect, Alea was thrilled to see her face on the movie poster. What she wasn't thrilled about, and what I did not expect, was the lettering. She thought it should still say "Alice". Almost 7-year olds make tough, tough clients. I was happy to pass her to Adrianna for the next crafty segment of the party planning.

I've just checked out the link leading to Alea's sketches and when I saw her work my jaw fell off!
    What an amazingly talented girl!
(*I would die to find a sketchbook like hers. In fact I desperately need one!)
