Oliver + S 2 + 2 Tunic + Skirt

October 1, 2009 By crafterhours Leave a Comment

That’s a lot of pluses!  Hi blog readers, I’m the Adrianna of “Adrianna & Susan”.  I am the proud mommy to Z, age 3, and P, age 1.  Both are lovely & tolerant girls that get to model all my sewn clothing successes and failures until they are old enough to put a stop to it.  Then I’ll start bribing them.

I have a couple tutorials to share, so stay tuned for those.  In the meantime, here is a little Oliver + S set I just finished for Z’s autumn wardrobe.

The top is quilting weight cotton from the “Muted Transitions” line by Lisa Schiller and the skirt is a linen/rayon blend that is absolutely divine.  It has the best drape and weight, and I highly recommend it for your future sewing endeavors.  I’ve sewed with 100% linen before and it is nowhere near as nice for clothing.  Linen/rayon somehow has the ability to hold crisp, clean lines, but still maintain a soft drape.  Perfection.  (side note:  it also irons well, despite the appearance in this photo.)

I also highly recommend Oliver + S for their simple, clear directions, detailed illustrations, and professional finished results.  Liesl is a genius.  You can see the other Oliver + S pattern I’ve made here.
