String Quilt? Not Yet.

October 8, 2009 By crafterhours Leave a Comment

I so love this tutorial from Film in the Fridge. I decided to try it, ignoring about 45 other projects that should be higher on the priority list but this one just looked so fun. So I set out.

I made, oh, a square, before I decided that it would make a lovely pillow that I have just the place for. I added some “Duck Egg” flowers with a free-motion foot applique. After I made the square I decided to use a freezer paper transfer piece from another round of experimentation and border that similarly. I backed both pillows with some Jennifer Pagianelli.

And the recipient, my three-year-old, has decided that they work for her. Will there be a matching string quilt forthcoming? We’ll see about that. I really need to make the Halloween costumes happen first.
