Yes, for real. Our very first giveaway. We can hardly believe it ourselves.
I am working on developing a product. That in itself is exciting enough, but in the process of researching potential materials to include in the development of said product, I found Field Notes.
They’re just so cool. Nerdy cool. Hip cool. Silly cool. Fun cool. And they might work for what I need… still studying. But in order to do the studying, I had contacted the marketing department and asked for samples. And they generously sent along enough not only for me to try them out, but for us to share with readers! (Readers? We’re still shocked that we have any. Christy, we still remember that you were the first.)
So… if you’re enthused about holding a set of these in your own clammy, trembling, excited little giveaway-winning hands, comment below. Tell us what you think you’d do with them. Comment soon, though, because the comments will be closed on Thursday, February 4th at midnight, EST at which point we’ll do that Random.org thing that everybody does to choose a winner. Assuming the chosen winner followed the rules and told us what exciting idea they have for these. Maybe you’ll use them to record your wedding vows?
Here’s the loot: a Field Notes Three-Pack, pencil, pen, a super smooooooth band and a button. Try to contain yourself. And this is a photo of the actual loot that you will receive. Unless my kids somehow get ahold of it first. I’m hiding these right now. In a very safe place. Which means I am bound to forget where I put it. So I’ll tell you so you can tell me when I forget. It’s on top of the upper left corner of my fabric shelves. (Shhh!)
Hi, just discovered your blog today (really cool!) and there’s already a giveaway!
You can definitely sign me up. I would use those beautiful Field Notes as a little inspiration book. I have already several lying around, all filled with drawings, cards, photos, quotes & even little pieces of fabric. I could surely use a new one!
I would probably use them to record local events and the silly and awesome things my kid does everyday! And of course, sketches of things that I have to sew!
i seriously have no idea what i will use these for but I WILL MAKE UP A REASON WHEN THEY ARE IN MY HOT LITTLE HANDS!
I would sew a cute little cover for it and keep it in my purse to record all the wonderful things that happen in the day! I’d have to hide it from my doodling kiddies too! Thanks for the chance to win!
HMMMM, I just might record fun little things that happen on a daily basis. Things my girls say, do, etc…Thanks for the opportunity!
These are great. Also, I happen to have met the guy who makes them, Draplin, and he’s a fairly cool designer as well.
What a cute little set. I love your blog, you girls have some great craft ideas! I’m an artist, so I think I would use this as a sketch book. It would be great to keep in my purse for those moments when I get an inspiration away from home and want to sketch it while it’s still fresh on my mind. Thanks for the giveaway! :)
I would make notes about color combinations I see for quilts and things…
I would use them to record the Funny things that happen to us everyday. I have always said I could write a book about it. I guess now is my chance. I love their site! I have to say, the besides the sweet notebooks, I am pretty psyched about the button!!! It totally made me smile! :)
They would be great to write down all of the ideas I have for various projects. I could have one fow sewing, one for home decorating… nice! Thanks for the giveaway!
I would keep one in my bag to jot down all my thoughts, things I have to do, what I need to buy, etc so it’s all in one place and not on pieces of paper all over my bag and house.
it would be used by me formy own great idea journal!! Love nice notebooks for that!!!
Awesome giveaway by the way! … oh my… I am so …LOL!
Fun! I have been meaning to get a notebook for all my crafty ideas and to-dos. I always find projects that I want to make, don’t writedown the location and spend too much time later searching=p This would be such a cool one to have!
I think I would use scrapbook paper to cover them and then give one to my dear daughter who loves to write, draw or color on any thing that isn’t sitting still and then use one to write down ideas or measurements of current projects( for future use.)
I would use one to record things my kids sad and did, and another to doodle sewing projects. The third would hold poetry.
Thanks for the giveaway :)
I would love to use them to write down all the stuff in my head…maybe then I could get something finished…instead of just starting 100 new projects. Love your blog. So Cute.
I need one by my bed as a replacement for those post-it notes. It should sit right next to my flashlight and pen, so I can write down those ideas I get in the middle of the night.
I also need one in my purse to write down, at a moment’s notice, those ridiculously funny things my boys say.
And of course I need one more to keep in my sewing room to jot down ideas I get while I’m in there.
I think that should cover all my main hangouts. Gotta have a notebook handy at all times! :o)
Great giveaway!!
I would use them to plan and dream and think…I can never find full sheets of paper that the kids haven’t drawn on!
So today as I was composing a blog post in my head, I told myself “self, you should start carrying something to write all these brilliant ideas down” and now here you are! It must be fate.
Oh please, Lady Luck, pick me
I’ve been eyeing these books for a few months now, but I’ve nervous about buying things over the internet, and I can’t find them where I live. If I manage to win a set, I’ll be taking them out with me when I go hiking/camping to take down my thoughts and observations.
I do believe I would use them to record what I need to get for the next project and keep it with me so when I actually go to the store, I have what I need instead of forgetting half of them.
I think I would use it to write down the things my son does and to record the birth of my son on the way! I’d just keep it in my purse, that way I’d never be without it when something cute happens!
I’m up for a giveaway! They do look really cool!
i would love them…and would use them to track my adoption. just starting the process of domestic adoption.
I am an obsessive list-maker, so I would definitely keep one in my bag, one on my desk and one nexct to my bed!
Nerdy cool is right up my alley! I would probably lay these on my night stand to admire before bed for a while. When I finally got the courage to use them (I hate to use cool stuff…I just like to hoard it), I would probably stick one in my purse to record all those random things I need to remember. One would go in my sewing room to doodle projects in. The third? I would probably just leave it by my bed :).
This is great! I would use this to either 1) to write/ draw all my craft ideas to have together in one spot, or 2) I have a great idea for a Valentine’s gift for my husband for next year that I would use it for.
LOVE IT! nerdy things are the best.
What a fun and useful giveaway! I would use them to record all the things that run through my head during the day that need to be done, but by the time I find a notebook to list them in I have forgotten!
If I won I would make a cute fabric cover & use it to jot down my creative ideas – ie. project lists (from blogs), what my kids need sewn, what my kids have said they want, what I need to sew for anyone/everyone
I would fill them up with my crafty ambitions.

These look super geek cool – can’t wait to see the insides. Ann @anniepazoo
so so cute!

They look like Moleskines. So they must be uber nerdy cool. I would do with it what I do with my moleskines – first I either paint or draw on the cover to personalise it – sometimes I cover it with fabric, sometimes I carve shapes in it. I use one for a diary, one for my sketching ideas about patterns, about fabrics, about projects, about web designs (my work), about photo shots, about anything creative that flips into my mind. I use another to write every day what it is that I am grateful for so as to keep a positive thought process every day. You can use these little books for everything they are so fantastic.
Oh, I love these, such a cute design!
I’d use these to attempt to record the exploits of my 2 boys (8 months & 2 years). But because I’m always doing too many things at once, I’d also use them as a random thought jotting-down-place, as well as a gathering place for my favorite swatches of fabric! Yummy!

How cute! I would just keep it in my bag and note down all of my great ideas :) OK…well maybe not great, but more like not to forget the milk and eggs at the grocery. And also all of my design ideas for my little girl. I’m always hit with great ideas when I’m away from home!
Lorraine.lawrence@hotmail.com
Oh, these are fabulous! I’d use them to sketch out projects, grocery lists, ideas for poems etc.
oh this looks awesome! i’m a list-maker so i would definitely use that for my daily to-do’s and anything else that comes to my mind! :)
Oh! That is nerdy cool. I love it!
I would use it to jot down design ideas, cute things the kids did, to do lists… doodles.
I’m too scatter brained to only have one use for it.

very cool for this science nerd. I would write down my shopping list/coupons to use and which stores to go to, christmas/birthday wish lists for people, and my craft projects along with what materials I need to pick up! I Love the look of it.
I would most certainly keep it in my nightstand to jot down those ideas that come late at night!
Awesome. I love Field Notes, but have yet to find them anywhere!
Write something in them. Review them. Wish I had more of them. The standard vicious cycle. Nr
I like this idea, so I would hold a similar contest in my Digital Imaging classroom to get the creativity flowing. Bonus = my students could have a chance at owning their very own Field Notes journal.
map out where i hide all my treasures
I’ve been desperate to try Field Notes stuff!! I live in Albania and don’t have a FN retailer anywhere near me. I really want to get my hands on these!!
I have 3 blogs. There are 3 Field Notes notebooks. One for each blog, and writing implements too! Perfect!
Oh my gosh, I need this! I would carry it in my purse and jot down ideas for my ever-evolving, perfectly planned but never executed, first novel. Right now I am using a Hello Kitty notebook from Target’s dollar spot. Not the most grown-up thing ever.
I love Fieldnotes. And love your blog.
I am an art student and i can combine my doodles with my notes with these beatuiful lined paper that are ever so durable! please, i can barely eat X(
love you!
So much to do with Field Notes…
I draw strangers I don’t know.
I transcribe memorable quotes.
I make notes and lists of items I make forget on my to-do list.
Tape found items (ex: photos, lists, lint, buttons)from my adventures.
Memorialize photo booth photos. (Reminds me of Amelie)
Force friends, family and acquaintances to shout out 7 words without any thought to them.
And of course the occasional telephone and address exchange.
For party and shower planning!
Those notebooks are very cool! I would sew a girly cover for one and give it to my 5 year old daughter, who loves to walk around and write random words as if she’s interviewing people. I would make a cool name label and put it on another one for my 15 year old son to keep better track of his assignments (he currently complains that his other notepad is too big to drag out all the time-excuses!) The last one I would keep for myself to jot down design ideas for our ‘new to us’ home. The notebook is the perfect size for my purse. LOVE IT! Thanks for the chance to win!

I would love those! They are adorable, and a great size for my purse. I often come up with a crafting or scrapbooking idea while I am out and about, and writing my ideas down on a napkin or the back of a receipt works — but they always get lost!
Thank you!
Andrea :)
Field Notes are such classy items that you just can’t help but slow down and write legibly. I plan on taking notes that I will at some point in the future be able to actually read and get useful information from.
I would LOVE to win these. I would put one book in my craft room, one in my bedroom and one in the common living area so I would always have a book around to jot down my ideas before I forget them. Great giveaway!
I love these things. I go through them like candy. Hook it up! I write everything in them.
I love these notebooks! I’d use them for my running to-do lists, and as a repository for all the post-it’s cluttering up my desk. Oh please pick me!
i think i need some more of these so i can practice my lettering. and one can never have too many blank notebooks around.
I still haven’t tried a Field Notes notebook yet! I’d use the notebooks, pencil, and pen to jot down to-do lists, funny things that people said, and things I don’t want to forget! The band will hold a wad of gel pens together, and the button will join my other amusing buttons in my desk organizer! :-)
Oh, man! Those are awesome! I’ve been looking for something to use for a journal/notebook… a place to get down some good stream-of-consciousness writing, as well as practical things like phone numbers and shopping lists.
I’d love to pull these out of my purse! I constantly make little notes to myself. And lately I’ve been doing a lot of party planning so my contacts and ideas would fit nicely in one of these.
Field Notes – cool! Hope you’re posting O/S because that’s where I am but I do enjoy your blog and that Anna Maria Horner is lovely for K&K and their bubba.
I’m going to use them to claw back some ground from the internet… let people see designer/architect/bone-fide digitist using a ‘fieldnotebook…
That would be perfect to give me the kick in the butt I need to start writing down my knitting and crochet patterns. :D
Those are awesome! I always have a little notebook with me wherever I go… heaven forbid I should get an idea and have nowhere to write it down!!! So I’d add those notebooks to my collection and fill them with random stuff that I’d otherwise forget about :)
I would definitely use them for making lists and keeping track of current and future projects
I am trying to create more crafts and fun for the kids so I would love this kit for recording ideas as they hit me. :)
I would use them to start making a list of all of the fun places to visit and things to do with Susan, K and M next year when they return to be on the same continent as me and all is right in the world once again. I will begin to add Adrianna and her girls to the list as soon as her and her husband confirm my plan for them to also return to the Zurcher side of the world!
Oh there are more than one book… so one could be for places to visit… one for projects to do… and the other… ummmm?
I LOVE Field Notes. I would keep mine in my purse next to my pencil case and doodle my ideas and make note of things I *need* to do and things I *want* to do and everything in between!
If I were so lucky as to win a pack of field notes I would have someplace to write down all the little ideas for short stories, abstract pieces and essay titles that somehow find themselves scrawled on various parts of my body. :)
ooh graph paper note book gotta love that. I would probably use the plain one for doodling in, the lined for writing down all the kooky ideas that pop into my head and the graph paper for mini scale versions of stuff I’m trying to draft. Then again I may just colour in the squares and pretend I’m playing tetris!
OOOOhh!!! This is the CUTEST little set! This would be so perfect for my son’s little “firsts” to journal about.
I like these. I would write in the lines. Draw in the blank one. Come up with new furniture arrangements in the graph one and show to my husband for him to be amazed at my new design. Maybe someday?
