It’s Skirt Week! Guest Blogger: Ruffles and Stuff

June 21, 2010 By crafterhours 5 Comments

The gorgeous Disney of Ruffles and Stuff has so generously agreed to kick off our Skirt Week 2010 with a tutorial.

We just can’t say enough about Disney.  We love all her ruffles.  We love all her stuff.  And we really love what she has for us today.  At some point during Skirt Week, we wanted to expound on the main reason why we love skirts, and Disney has illustrated that point beautifully:  They are so versatile!  Take an a-line: make it with denim, with colorful printed cotton, with a vintage sheet, with dark velvet.  Add trim, an underskirt, an overskirt, appliques, a screenprint.  That same shape, that same pattern, can take you from backyard bbq to black tie affair without breaking a sweat.  It is like a blank canvas, just waiting for you to give it life.

With that said, let’s take a look at how Disney turned something simple into something very special.

We think this skirt perfectly exemplifies her signature romantic, feminine style.

Thank you so much for sharing this and kicking off Skirt Week for us, Disney!
