Looking for inspiration to get started on something amAAAAAzing for Skirt Week? (Really, potentially winning prizes at the same time as creating a great skirt? No brainer.)

If you’re looking for a tutorial to guide you through the process, there are a gajillion wonderful, free ones out there:

From the ideation station also known as Ruffles And Stuff:
The 20-minute Skirt
Layered Ruffled Skirt

Easy Jersey Skirt
Bubble Skirt from Tights Top
From Made:
Market Skirt
From Lil Blue Boo:

From Adventures in Dressmaking:
The Shirt Skirt

From Grosgrain:
The 20 Minute Simple Skirt

From Angry Chicken:
5 Minute Skirt

From House on Hill Road:
Twirly Skirt

From Grand Revival Design:

From Dacia Ray:
Free Skirt Pattern

From a little blog called Crafterhours:
The Milkmaid Skirt
The Dresden Plate Skirt

And if you’d like really detailed guidance, and especially if you’re a pattern-loving crafter, you might like any (or all) of these:

Burda Style (many free and low-cost patterns)
Lil Blue Boo’s Recycled T-Shirt Skirt
Made’s Can-Can Skirt
Anna Maria Horner’s Study Hall Skirt
Amy Butler’s Barcelona Skirt

So, that’s just the tiniest smidge of skirt tutorials and patterns available to you, but hopefully it will give you an idea or two!  Have a skirt pattern or tutorial link you love to pieces? I have to add a note about the Lazy Days Skirt pattern/instructions on the Oliver and S website. It’s a toddler skirt with very clear and basic instructions so a total novice can follow it and make a nice skirt for a little girl. http://www.oliverands.com/blog/2008/08/lazy-days-skirt-free-pattern.html

OMG. I can not wait. Now if you could find me a website that provides extra time AND well (non-sick) children! :) Sydney is totally into skirts/dresses right now so I’m really excited!

    This is great!!!

I’ve been meaning to cut my fist skirt but am terrified and can’t seem to muster the courage for it.
I hope your initiative will drive away my block!!!!
    Thanks

Just wondering… Is a gored skirt considered a line or full?
Can’t wait to see all the nice things people make!
