Skirt Week: Full Skirt Winner!

June 23, 2010 By crafterhours 9 Comments

Ok, we’ll jump right to it.  The Full Skirt Winner is:

Seersucker Summer Special by Shannon of Mama’s Hustlin’!

We were drawn to this skirt by the gorgeous band of contrasting Amy Butler fabric.  Then we looked closer and saw that the main skirt was made from seersucker!  Then we saw that there were pockets!  Then we were sold.

We love that she talks about playing ring-around-the-rosie and running through the sprinklers with her kids in this skirt, because that’s exactly what we’d imagine doing while wearing it.  In fact, if I were her, I just wouldn’t take it off for the next 3 months!

Congratulations Shannon!   Enjoy your loot!

Mod Podge for Fabric, Simply Screen kit + Iron-ons from Mod Podge Rocks
1 yard custom twill tape from TwillTape.com

$25 Gift Certificate from from TwillTape.com
Your choice of Pin Cushion Ring from Art Nest
Summer Vacation Dress and Shortie, Can-Can Skirt Patterns from MADE

$20 Gift Certificate from Above All Fabric
Lily Skirt Pattern from Make It and Love It

And once again, some (but not all) of our other favorites:

Check out the hem on Suzannah of Adventures in Dressmaking’s paper bag skirt.  How cool is that?!  And how did she do it? (That’s not a rhetorical question, Suzannah!)

Another reversible skirt!  We’re suckers for a fold-over knit waistband and we especially love how Amy Scraps made this printed on one side & solid on the other, for maximum wearability.
We love the simplicity and fabric choices of QuiltyGirl’s reincarnated skirt (read about it’s former life on her blog).  Yet another one that’s been added to my “must copy” list!  (Though I’ll be lazy and use elastic, whereas she did gathers and a zipper!)
Oh, Kelly!  The swingy-ness!  The pose!  The top (she also made it)!  The flower!  Love!  That about sums it up :)
We’re always in the mood for something nautical, and Feather’s Flights’ skirt fit the bill.  Love those flower-embellished pockets!
Anna Maria Horner took the words right out of my mouth when she commented that this skirt by During Quiet Time looks like it was cut on the bias, though it wasn’t.  Thanks for showing us how to make a skirt with the drape of a bias-cut but without all the fabric, Amy!
Anybody besides us feel like grabbing this skirt off of Toni from Make it Perfect and running to the beach?  I could live in it, and so could you, since she designed the pattern for it too!
