A Matching Skirt

April 27, 2011 By crafterhours 15 Comments

If you read my guest post over at Craftiness is not Optional, you saw that I promised to show you a matching skirt for this shirt:
Well, here it is!
A fun twirly skirt for a twirly girl.
It’s a full circle with a simple waistband.
But instead of putting elastic in the back, I decided to use a zipper.  And instead of just inserting a zipper, I decided to make it an exposed zipper!
I love it, but my husband doesn’t believe me that this is a “thing”.  Back me up, fashion forward people.  Because whether it’s a “thing” or not, exposed zips are having a moment over here at my house.  I just used another one in a dress for me.
(Which I’ll show you when I can find this durn photo prop that I’m completely stuck on and simply must find before I can take pictures of the dress.  Don’t judge.  We all have our issues.)

You guys are full of cuteness! I think the exposed zip is fun, my daughter is like your husband…. I shall have to endure her comments if I ever decide to do one.

Can’t wait to see your dress. Find that prop!

I love the skirt, but I’m afraid I’d have to back up your husband about the zipper. Especcially at that spot on a skirt.

I agree with Ima (and your husband). The location is the killer part. It reminds me of Kirsty Alley’s dress last night and I didn’t like where my eyes took me.
Otherwise I LOVE that skirt and the top is too sweet!

I’m afraid that I’m not really a fan of the exposed zipper but that’s just me. Sorry. I do think the outfit is adorable though other than that one thing.

Exposed zippers are totally a thing! I was looking at an adorable dress the other day that was black with a red exposed zipper running down the back! It was super cute!

CUTE skirt but I’m not a fan of the exposed zipper at all. Sorry, I’m with your hubby on this one.

I think the exposed zipper is cute. I don’t know that I would/could sport it, but it’s cute on this skirt! I think BCBG is doing exposed metal zippers right now, am I right?

I’m not a big fan of the exposed zipper, but I never have been very trendy. I think it’s one of those things right now that you either love or hate. Good for you for trying something new!
