The Waiting Is the Hardest Part

March 19, 2013 By crafterhours 8 Comments

Tomorrow is the day. Today is my very last day of wondering whether this kid, almost definitely my last kid ever, is a boy or a girl. There’s all sorts of campaigning happening around me, as if any of us has any say in the matter. As long as the already very active kid cooperates tomorrow morning, we’ll know one way or the other. Oh, and, um, have a look at all of the other important parts too. I tend to lose sight of the real reason for this scan and when I remind myself of it I freak myself out. Let’s just cross fingers and move on.

A friend had the good idea to have a gender reveal party. Sounds fun, right? Except now everyone is half-jokingly whining and moaning about it (including the person who HAD the idea) and individually making their respective cases for why they in particular should be exempt from these torturous extra few days of waiting. The party’s on Sunday. I think they’ll survive. Even this kid, whose pleading is hard to resist.
Either variety of baby sounds exciting. And scary. And fun. And exhausting. I already know so many fun things about having a girl. I’ll be sad that those aren’t coming around again if it’s a boy. I hardly have an idea of what fun it is to be the mother of a boy, and maybe if it’s a girl I’ll be sad that I’ll never know? So… I’m happy. Sad. Both. Either way. And excited to know. And share next week here.
In crafty bloggy world the implications are huge. You know, as huge as anything in the relatively light-hearted crafty bloggy world is. Will it be a sixth crafterhours girl? Or will the five girls be joined by a boy, and more boyish sewing and crafting appear? It could be earth shattering.
Are you one of those people who knows these things? Have a guess? A gut feeling? Tellll me.

We’ll know more next week…

Boys are fun! And SO much easier than girls! :) crafting for boys can be fun too. Just more super heroes and less pink. ;)

I should mention I have one of each and love them both. Don’t want to accidentally start a debate!

Oh I need to see your belly to take a really educated guess, but for some reason my spidey senses say you need to have a boy. By the way, they ARE really fun to have around, and can even be fun to sew for! ;)

I agree about needing to see the belly as well as answers to essential questions like are you craving salty or sweet? What about leg hair growth? More or less? Personal questions I know, but if you live in the South and have ever heard the radio show Rick and Bubba, you’ll agree.

Okay, Chelli. Here’s the belly. Craving salty and sweet equally. Leg hair same-ish or less. Haven’t measured lately. :) http://instagram.com/p/XFF1aFweT0/
