I promised a giveaway or two at the beginning of the week, and here it is! You can enter to win your very own copy of the Edelweiss Dress just by commenting below and telling us what you’d do with the pattern. It can be anything from who you’d sew it for to what fabrics or trim you’d use, or just that you’d use it to prop up a wobbly coffee table. It’s up to you! One comment per person please. I’ll choose two winners on Monday!
Next up, I have a very special guest! It’s Jess from Craftiness is not Optional! Jess wasn’t able to “officially” join the tour because she needed to make the Edelweiss for another sewing tour she did before Hey June June began. But I asked if I could feature her here anyway. The sewing tour is called “When we were young” hosted by Sew Pony, and I think it’s just the most fun idea. Jess sewed up a dress for her daughter to match one she wore when she was little. And serendipitously, it just happened to be about identical to the Edelweiss Dress! Head over to Craftiness is not Optional to see how she made up this fun striped dress with some extra details to make it just like hers! I love the ruffle at the hem, the sweet little bow, and how Jess manipulated the stripes for extra interest. The Edelweiss includes a little tutorial if you want to use stripes to make a chevron on the front bodice like Jess did. And of course her little girl can’t be beat in the dimpled cheeks department, and now we know where she got them! Thank you so much for using the Edelweiss, Jess!
Cute pattern, I’d use it to mash up my 1/2yd cuts of AMH voile a la Parrish Platz
