Hey June: Miss Matatabi

June 26, 2013 By crafterhours 1 Comment

Oh I have such a treat for you today.  I’m super excited about today’s guests.  First up, it’s Frances from Miss Matatabi.  Frances runs an online fabric store jam packed with the most drool worthy fabrics.  I’ve ordered from her a handful of times and each time has been a great experience, not to mention the amazing fabric I got :)  I can’t recommend her shop enough.  Actually, as I was just at her shop grabbing the link, I found 4 more fabrics I want.  It’s a disease, people.

Over at her blog, she sews mostly with fabrics from her shop, so it’s really fun and inspiring to see those flat pieces of fabric turn into something gorgeous for her little one.  Frances also just announced her collaboration on an e-book!  It’s a shopping guide for all things crafty in Tokyo, and it is soooo dangerous for me because I live just close enough to maybe think about a shopping trip.  Ugh, I’m so tempted.  We don’t need to buy food for a few months, right?

While I debate over whether or not to feed my children, you should check out her beautiful KNIT Edelweiss!  That’s right, I said knit!  Does she have my number, or what?

I can’t get over the lovely simplicity of this one.  I swear this dress kills me any way it’s made, and I really appreciate all the different versions, but there is something about using just one fabric and letting it shine that just makes me smile.  And if you’re going to pick one fabric, you can never go wrong with polka dot knit!

Head over to Miss Matatabi to see the full post.  And if you’re inspired to make your own polka dot Edelweiss, Frances has a bunch of Nani Iro dots in her shop.  (ps: some are metallic!)

Thank you so much for sharing your Edelweiss, Frances!
