Yesterday I shared what hashtags are, where you find and use them, and why you’d want to. Click here to read that post. Once you know the why and how, you’re ready to see the most-used sewing hashtags and get clicking- so I’ve gathered the best hashtags to use!
Before we get to a list of tags, two important tips for how hashtags can help you shop wisely. By using hashtags to research patterns and fabric, you can be more sure that what you’re buying will work for you!
Ready to dig in? Some of these are hashtags I use frequently and others were suggested by Instagram friends.

Thank you for this!! I just really started using hashtags, I am seeing much more activity because of it.
Great tips – thank you!

great list! I found a bunch of new ones to use :) I’d add #sweatnsew for the community of health-minded seamstresses, and #memademay is a mega event to participate in, too.
I’m still confused.
WHERE do I use the hashtags? In Facebook posts? My emails? Or do I have to join another online group like Twitter or Instagram? Thanks
I touch on that in this post – http://www.crafterhoursblog.com/2015/05/sewing-hashtags-what-are-they-and-why-use-them.html – You *can* use them in Facebook posts but Facebook hasn’t perfected their system yet — they’re most useful on Twitter and Instagram. Of those two if you’re not already using it I’d vote for you to try Instagram – you don’t have to post anything yourself if you don’t want to but the clicking around experience is pretty easy and fun. All you have to do is find a few people you like to get started. Most bloggers have an account there these days so that’ll help you figure out where to start. (I’m @crafterhours) ;)
