Voting for the Straight Skirt Reader’s Choice Winner turned out to be a nail biter! Within just a handful of votes, the winner is…
gold curtain skirt by michael ann
You’d never guess that this skirt was made from a vintage brocade curtain, and finished just in the nick of time for Skirt Week. Classic and simple and a bit modern, too. It’s just yummy.
The judges didn’t have an easy time of this round, either, but the entry they chose is…
The Snowball Skirt by Mandy
The judges told us that “This was the hardest category to choose between but I really like this skirt. The embellishments are adorable and the tie is a great way to hide that it’s really an elastic waistband!” and “It doesn’t look at all homemade – the fabric is lovely and the shape really suits the wearer. Her tutorial proves that it’s deceptively easy to make – I like that!”
Congratulations to this round of winners! Mandy and Michael Ann, drop us your location information so that the guy with the big fake check can knock on your door. And the rest of you? Sit tight. Children’s Skirt voting is coming up next!
P.S. You already entered to win a Silhouette, right?
P.P.S. It bears mentioning that Adrianna and I will see each other IN PERSON today for the first time since November. There will be no crafting whatsoever as there will be six little girls providing the entertainment for this gathering. But there’s at least the potential for some crafty conversation. I’ll take it.
