Honey, we need a pool

October 1, 2009 By crafterhours 2 Comments

This was a one-nap project. Well, one nap and ten minutes after nap as the nap was cut short by an upset tummy. Big sister’s dollhouse was in need of a yard for the dolls to play, and while making a yard I decided that they may as well have a pool and a garden while I was adding acreage. I took the photos just before a parade of dollhouse marker-ing by big sister. Looks like the house is now scheduled for some renovation.

One yard of sage dot flannel trimmed to round the corners, zigzag stitched to finish the edge. Scraps of fabric applied with Heat n Bond and stitched on with a free-motion foot. It’s a lake in the front yard or a pool in the back. Growing flowers or strawberries or corn. Still works as a blankie in a pinch. Portable doll play mat. Lots of room for imagination.

That is really cute! My 3 year old has that same doll house and now I think I need to go make it some landscaping. Thanks for the idea!

What a great idea! My brothers used to make tape house layouts for my sister and I, but I love that this is cute and re-usable!
