I Spy Update- Squared Up

September 2, 2010 By crafterhours 10 Comments

Lot of I Spy excitement happening in my mailbox. I have to open the door carefully and be ready to catch the stuff that leaps out. Well, that’s what K and I talk about as we go check the mail anyway.

These are my own fabrics for the swap. The one on the far right is an extra that I designed myself. So that’s the one I’ve been waiting for most– my very first Spoonflower fabric! Uh… I don’t know that that’s the beginning of anything significant. Just something I’ve wanted to do for a while. Designing fabric is really, really fun. Doesn’t mean I’m good at it, it’s just fun. And now I have to cut them. As soon as I get up the courage. Bummer that liquid courage would only hinder this effort. (“Dear Spoonflower, wine and rotary cutting do not mix, can you please reprint my fabric?”)

Here’s the beginning of sorting the stacks. 6,272 squares will be included. It’s about a third sorted so far.

Here are one of each of the first squares I’ve gotten. If you see yours here, you know I have it! There are more waiting to be sorted, but I’m out of town until next week, so there’ll be a bunch when I get back. My husband says there’s a big pile waiting for me.

We’ve had some delays for various reasons– printing turnaround, order adjustments, vacations, etc, so we’re a bit behind the original schedule. But folks are getting their squares out and I don’t hear anyone complaining– just excited to get the squares back into their own hands and get to work!

Yay! I see mine! : ) Can’t wait to find an envelope in my mailbox with these!

Oh- and I was totally nervous about cutting… I must’ve measured and counted 3 times before each cut. (Dear Susan, ummm… when I was stacking up my squares I realized that one entire strip was cut 4″x5″… do you think anyone will notice??) Thankfully, it all turned out okay!
