Goodies in my mailbox!

January 15, 2011 By crafterhours 6 Comments

Awhile ago I saw this post from Beverly of Flamingo Toes where she featured her Rebecca bag:

Now, I’m not a purse girl.  (I’m an outerwear girl, if you must know.)  I have my brown and black leather purse, and that’s it.  But I love the styling, size, and exposed metal zipper of the Rebecca bag, so I just had to have the pattern.  No definite plans for it yet, but I feel better knowing it’s in my possession.

Of course, when I went over to her etsy shop to buy it, I stumbled upon this fun bicycle necklace, and it somehow latched itself onto my shopping cart like a little necklace leech and wouldn’t let go.  I was finally forced to buy it.

Well, I got my gorgeous necklace in the mail today (the pdf pattern is sent instantly via email) and I love it! And Beverly was incredibly sweet and included a cute little ring for me too!  How awesome is that?!  My favorite part was her note teasing me about how she didn’t know what color I’d like, but knew she probably shouldn’t send purple.  I love that my aversion to purple (understatement of the year) is so well known that she remembered.

Cute ring shot:

(ps: I love green.  It’s the opposite of purple.)

Thank you thank you thank you Beverly!
And if you’re not following already, go check out Flamingo Toes.  I’m excited about the upcoming Blog Spa week she has planned.  (I’ll be out of town that week, so you guys have a better chance of winning the giveaways.)

Susan would like to note that green is not the opposite of purple.

    too cute :)

I am much like you and do not like purple… Lately I have seen a couple things that are tolerable but would never own/wear…

Wow Adrianna!! Thanks so much for this super sweet post!
I’m so glad you like the necklace and the ring – and I’m glad green was a good choice. :)

I love all of those amazing treats that you got :) I’m in love with bicycle necklaces right now. I can’t wait to see what your purse will look like too!

I second Susan. Yellow falls opposite violet on the color wheel.

Love the bag! Do you need a serger for the ruffle? Since my baby started “school” I get to go out without a bag big enough for diapers and what not.

So, the ring doesn’t fall into the category of getting flowers as a gift?

Love. That. Bag. If I ever get rid of nursing children in diapers, I want one. So remember not to lose that pattern. Cause it sure would make a nice, “you’re no longer nursing and have to carry around a huge diaper bag” kinda gift.

    — and I’d like to add that I totally understood your opposites analogy. Without the semantics lesson. :)
