There’s more awesome than you can shake a stick at coming this week and next. Sure, we call it Skirt Week, but it’s more appropriately Skirt Weeks. Two weeks this time. Maybe it’ll grow by a week each year? Who knows.
Each day this week, beginning Monday, we have a guest blogger sharing skirt inspiration, tips and tutorials. If you haven’t entered your skirts yet, you still have time. Entries close this Friday, June 17 at 8 pm Eastern. The judges (which do not include Adrianna or me! Halleluia!) will narrow down the finalists for judging which will begin on Monday, June 20. One category will be up for reader voting each day, and the following day the winners of both the reader’s choice and the judge’s choice for the previous day’s category will be announced.
Have you checked out the prizes? If you’re on the fence, it’s worth a look. To enter, review the rules and click on the links at the top of our sidebar to go to the Flickr pools.
Speaking of the pools, there’s some amazing stuff in there. There’re all sort of skirts to be had– simple beauty, some fresh ideas, elaborate embellishment, and all sorts of things we’d never, ever have come up with ourselves. Since I’m not judging, I picked a few random skirts that caught my eye.
And why aren’t we judging? Because judging was so gut wrenching last year (they’re just skirts, right? What’s so hard about that? It’s kind of ridiculous that we take it SO seriously, isn’t it?) that we decided we couldn’t handle it again and we passed on the task to a panel of fabulous judges. We’ll tell you more about who IS judging later in the week(s).
P.S. If you’re wondering how Adrianna is doing, I can confirm that she’s safely in America and doing all sorts of amazing America things. Like eating hamburgers and shopping. Safe and sound. And well-fed.
