Are you in DC? Or Northern Virginia? Or Maryland? Or somewhere nearby-ish and planning to be even nearer on March 23? Come join me! Let me tell you what I’m inviting you to do– after I tell you how it came about.
The strangest thing happened at Alt. I’d link here to my Alt recap… if I’d written one yet. I haven’t. So let me just cut to the “Clue” themed party on Thursday night. I’m standing in the photo booth line with Natasha and we’re chatting with people around us, when we realize that Miranda, in line with us, is from DC! And sews! There aren’t many sewing people at the conference, really, so to happen upon one who also lives in our area was surprising. Here we are about 10 minutes after meeting, all BFF-y, as tends to happen at Alt:

Since meeting we’ve stalked each other on Instagram and via our blogs and continued our we-need-a-DC-sewing-event conversation, and Miranda has a great place to start!
gah! i’ll be out of town…and actually, i really really don’t know hot to sew…but i really really want one of those dresses for my wee tot. hoping i get to see you ladies soon! ps – we all look rather charming in that group photo!
We do, don’t we? No worries about not knowing how to sew– that’s what the class is for! We need to get together before heading for our new spots!
I’ve been eyeing this dress and I’m so close! I may have to make this work! We’re in montgomery county md which is totally doable. I’m checking my calendar tonight!
Yay! Come come come! It’s guaranteed to be fun!
Susan, do you follow the slapdash sewist? She’s there too. She talks about g street fabrics all the time.
I do! She’s awesome. I’ll e-mail her. I don’t think she does much kid sewing (okay, maybe none!) but maybe she has some kid sewing enthusiast friends. Or maybe she wants to go crazy and size this up for herself. HA!
Well, I wrote an e-mail and went to send it… and there’s no e-mail address aaaanywhere that I can find on her blog. I’m taking that as a sign…
Yay Susan! I can’t wait to see you there! Alt was sort of an insta-bff experience, right? I’m so glad, because you guys are awesome.
xoxo
I’m a Northern VA sewist! And I love G Street. Gotta avoid that place – it’s too easy to come home with 10 yards of fabric I have no plans for. I wish I could join you on the 23rd, but I work on Saturdays.
I have been impressed with the dress pictured by you. I like the babies dress and from the first photo the style which is more beautiful is Ania’s style. Her style is more advanced and more innovative. Though the photography is outstanding. Newcastle wedding photography
