NEW Pattern! Giant Rainbow Quilt

February 25, 2015 By Susan 8 Comments

At the end of last year I went looking for a rainbow quilt pattern. I wanted something graphic and bold that would highlight fabrics I love and had a curved rainbow look without curved piecing. When I couldn’t find it, I created it! Meet the Giant Rainbow Quilt!Giant Rainbow Quilt Pattern

If you follow me on Instagram you may’ve seen some sneak peeks there via hashtag #giantrainbowquilt. I recruited testers to help iron the pattern out and I’ll be sharing a whole bunch of their versions tomorrow, showing off a variety of looks that come from this pattern. The file includes both Twin and Throw sizes and the twin size has 3 different views along with yardage charts and step-by-step illustrated instructions for all.Giant Rainbow Quilt Pattern

There are a few things that are especially exciting about it. You know, besides the RAINBOW-y pop!

  • If you’re new to quilting, this is a very friendly project. I’ve carefully designed the pattern pieces to help keep things nice and smooth during piecing.
  • It’s quick! There are, of course, lots of ways to mix up your fabrics and scraps to make it more time consuming if you really want to roll around in it and enjoy the rainbow-y goodness, but if you like QUICK, you’ll dig it as-is.
  • The pattern includes matching COLORING PAGES! Use them to plan your fabric colors OR to plan your quilting pattern. Or both!
  • The pattern and instructions are illustrated in rainbow-y color but print in black and white, too. For the rainbow rebels. I know you’re out there.

See the listing in my shop, or use the “Buy Now” button to get to work!

This cover version (and all of the tester versions!) were created with bundles of gorgeous Windham Fabrics, most of which are just arriving in stores right now.  I’ll share all of the fabric details in tomorrow’s post!
