You MUST KNOW Anne Weaver!

February 23, 2015 By Susan 12 Comments

If you’ve participated in sewing blog world for long, whether as a reader or a sew-a-long-er or a link partier or whateeeever part of it draws you in, you’ve probably noticed something. It’s FULL of helpful, positive, encouraging people. If you have a question, someone has a helpful answer. If you have a niche-y interest, someone else, and likely lots of someone elses, share it.

craft-gossip-thank-youBut long before we had Pinterest to help scout out the good stuff Anne Weaver of Craft Gossip was scouting and sharing. I really don’t know how she did it in the early days, and even now her head must explode daily with all that she filters and shares. She’s a friend to many sewing bloggers and today a bunch of us/them are celebrating her. Talk about kind and helpful! She’s been a leader in sewing blog world for years and her encouragement of blogs of all sizes and styles is and has been SO appreciated. This feels like there’s an announcement coming, doesn’t it? Nope. She’s not going anywhere that I know of. Just a random choice to make today YAY ANNE DAY!

In addition to running the sewing page for Craft Gossip, she has her own blog. Here’s my favorite post from Orange Bettie – She has the best sense of humor and quirky style!Crazy Cat Lady Christmas tree by Orange Bettie

If you’re not already familiar with Anne and Craft Gossip, head over to “meet” her. See other posts celebrating Anne here. If you’ve made something you found via Anne/Craft Gossip, say thanks! Snap a pic today and share it on IG/Twitter via the hashtag #thankyoucraftgossip!

Anne Weaver is truly the best. Her blog style is generous, lively, and always new. Her treatment of others who blog and sew is genuinely friendly. She is a fountain of ideas and enthusiasm. She’s brilliant at spotting and sharing trends. And she’s a genius at finding the simplest, easiest-to-understand method of sewing ANYTHING. I’m so glad her talent, humor, and kindness are being honored! Love you, Annie!

Anne’s site is such a treasure…I can’t even say how many tutorials I’ve bookmarked off of CraftGossip. Thanks so much for all that you do, Anne! (And as someone who has been reblogged, it really is such an honor!).
