Sewing Friends Converge

March 23, 2015 By Susan 3 Comments

Over the weekend Alida of Alida Makes and Jess of The Sewing Rabbit came to visit!

It was so nice to get together with MY PEOPLE. Not that the people who live here aren’t also my people, but you know, friends who sew and blog are fewer and farther between. Besides a whole lot of talking, we did a lot in a weekend!

We had a few beverages and made use of Jess’s selfie stick.

The day just got a whole lot better!! So happy with @alidamakes @crafterhours

I got to wear the perfect shirt: (available here, thanks, Kate!)

We ran around adorable Edenton, NC’s main street.

Went out for a photo shoot with @alidamakes and @jessrabbott tonight! Ridic selfie via selfie stick in their feeds! A photo posted by Susan Yates (@crafterhours) on Mar 21, 2015 at 6:17pm PDT

We got blog photos for everyone – here’s Alida’s sneak peek and you can see more in today’s full post.

We got a respectable amount of rest before Alida and I had a super productive Sunday morning — I made bias binding for my KING size Giant Rainbow Quilt–

Such a fun tool! Have you tried a bias tape maker?

and got the entire thing bound, and then we did a photo shoot for that and for Alida’s second Sew the Show look! Quilt post coming later this week – but while we were out there shooting a neighbor walked by and asked if we’d like a photo together. Alida looked great modeling her new top, but since I was still in my PJs more or less I respectfully declined. Ha! Such a nice neighbor, though.

I haven’t broken it to my husband (who did more than his usual share of kid-wrangling) that we’d like to do this every weekend. Though maybe he’d agree to once a month if I started by asking for every weekend — that’s how marital negotiation is supposed to work, right?
