Fall Wardrobe: Appliqued T-Shirts

September 13, 2010 By crafterhours 11 Comments

No fall/winter wardrobe is complete without some nice long sleeved knit shirts.  I found these for a steal at the local Walmart-ish type store.  The only problem was the fairly horrendous silver foil screen print saying “cute girl” on the fronts.  Why do manufacturers insist on defacing their clothing like that?  Well, it was easily rectified.
First up, an idea I totally stole from Anna of Noodlehead (here’s her version).  To be fair, I did warn her that I was going to copy her, and I already had a scrap of this bicycle print in my stash just waiting for the perfect project.
And two more prints that those of you paying very close attention might recognize from here and here.  I love using up those little scraps leftover from big projects!
Of course, I had to add a little something to the back of each shirt, you know, just because I can.

I love what you’ve done! I have a pile of walmart-ish t-shirts to tart up for my kids for the spring / summer. I have one done but need to get onto the other 7!

Cute! This is a perfect idea for all the 2nd hand shirts that are given to me for my boys, but we don’t like b/c they got generic wording on them. I’ve pinned it for future reference!

Great idea! I have always thought of doing something like this instead of paying for expensive mini boden tops!
