First up in my series of fall wardrobe sewing: the essential pajama!
Just a simple pair of pjs, made from one of the cute ribbed knits in this pile. I made a ringer shirt with long sleeves and thick wristbands, then just traced an old pair of pj pants and lengthened them for the bottoms. Easy as can be, and finished within an hour, including the time it took to trace new patterns and cut the fabric. I’m never spending $16 on kids’ pjs again!
Now I just wish my younger daughter didn’t have way too many of her older sister’s pjs so I’d have an excuse to make some for her!
I love these!!
I was planning on doing this as well, yours look great! Bouncing pics are fabulous :)
Great pajamas, very cute! And about those pj’s for your youngest? Just stop doing laundry for a little while and then you suddenly really need new pajamas. Really :D
These are awesome!
So cute Adrianna!- Kim
I remember making thermal-knit ones like this–I was so proud when the pants turned out proper as I had traced them from an existing pair (never did that before) and they became my favorite! Something about the snug fit made them much more comfy to sleep in.
Oooow they are gorgeous, and hey, who says you need an excuse?!
Very cute!!
Sweet! So cute and definitely more afforadable. I have been wanting to sew some pjs for my little boy, you have inspired me to try it :)
so cute! I wish I wouldn’t be so scared to use knits. she looks so happy in them. :)
Great idea! I hate buying pjs for my daughter. I have to remember this idea for later fall sewing :)
Is it really cheaper than $16 per set of pj’s to buy knit fabric? I always cringe at the price of cute knits!!
Ya know, that’s how Linds ended up with stitches beneath her bottom lip. Didn’t your mother tell you Zoe, “NO jumping on the bed!” :-) BTW…cute jammies on a cute Zoe. xoxo
This is so funny!!! I just did a tutorial for PJs just like this!!!! I can’t believe I missed this post before :)
I couldn’t believe how quick it was to make the either.
