ANOTHER Guest Post for The Sincerest Form of Flattery!

April 16, 2011 By crafterhours Leave a Comment

Since there are two bloggers that make crafterhours happen, and Jess of Craftiness is not Optional asked crafterhours to participate in her Knock-Off event with Kojo Designs appropriately called “The Sincerest Form of Flattery”– she got two knock-offs for the price of one. A double bonus for you, too, right?
If you head on over, you’ll see how to make what I’ve called “Gap Girl Copy”. Not the most creative title, eh? But “embroidered yoke dress” was even less exciting AND wouldn’t fit well in the space of the photo. And reminds me of farm animals. I think I’m thinking of when Almanzo Wilder works with cattle in Farmer Boy. Doesn’t mesh well with bubble gum pink stretch cotton sateen.

So I went with short and sweet. Or short and bland, rather. Anyway, I think the dress itself was quite fun to make and I’m already thinking of how I’d like to modify it in another round. Lots of options for this one. Go check it out and tell me what you think! I get all nervous nelly when it’s been so long since I did a dress tutorial. It’s Adrianna’s stomping grounds for sure, but since this one had an embellishment area to play with… I had to make a dress first!
