Doily Stenciled Shirt

February 13, 2010 By crafterhours 9 Comments

When I first saw this shirt over at Grace Violet, I believe I actually squealed.   How cute is that?  (and how cute is her site?  I love everything she does.  Thanks Grace Violet!)

So when Susan invited me over for a crafty night, and I knew at the end of a long day with kids I would not be up to anything that involved extensive thought processes, I figured this was the perfect thing to do.  Plus, Susan has white fabric paint and I don’t.

Here’s my finished version:

And since all the supplies were out, Susan grabbed one of her shirts and tossed it at me so I could make one for her too:

So easy, and yet one of my favorite things to date.  That’s saying a lot too, considering it’s a no-sew project.  This is about as “crafty” as I get!  More doily stenciling will surely follow.

I can’t find the fabric paint!! I live in PODUNK, not at WM and not at the little craft store in town either. Phooey. I want to make one for my daughter, I think she would LOVE it!

Yup, I want one. The perfect thing to distract from this hugely expanding belly. No one will ever notice the preggo belly with this cute lace to grab their attention. Now to find a shirt that actuall fits over the belly.

I think you could probably do this with a normal acrylic craft paint. It just might not hold up as long in the washing process.
